La zona è di elevato interesse naturalistico per l'enorme ricchezza faunistica, sia per la varietà di specie presenti, che per il numero di capi.

L'itinerario ( Alta Via 2) parte dal paese di Eaux Rousses (in francese "acque rosse" per la tipica acqua ferruginosa che scorre in zona); dopo aver superato il torrente Savara e gli alpeggi di fondovalle, si risale in un bosco di larici e abeti rossi, dove si possono osservare camosci, scoiattoli e picchi. Dopo un lungo traverso si incontra il sentiero che sale direttamente da Tignet (10), si prosegue fino ad avvistare l'alpeggio di Levionaz dessous, nelle cui vicinanze sorgono un casotto riservato ai ricercatori che lavorano nel parco e il casotto dei guardaparco. Il percorso continua nel grande pianoro di Levionaz, dove si possono osservare stambecchi e marmotte, in direzione dell'alpeggio di Levionaz dessous.
