Plant with a dark bulb from which the flower is produced directly. Tepals pedunculate, lanceolate. Pink, lilac-pink flowers. Its habitat is alpine pastures at altitudes of 600/1900 m. In Italy it can be found in the Maritime Alps, Piedmont and Valle d'Aosta.

Description

It belongs to the Asbestos family. It occurs in the form of thin, elongated needles; it is a complex silicate of Calcium, Magnesium and Iron. It is of exclusively collector's importance.

Production area

It includes the best exposures in the municipalities of [[Arnad]], [[Issogne]] and [[Montjovet]] located between 350 and 500 m altitude.
