Mount Avzé, from Veirera

Access

From the Masone exit of the A26 motorway, you reach the Turchino pass and the Faiallo pass. Continue through the hamlets of Vara to San Pietro d'Olba, where you turn left. From the hamlet of La Carta you turn left, passing Alberola until you find the Veirera sign (978 m) where you can park.

Introduction

Simple excursion through relaxing forests.

Description

You ascend again to the right until you find the symbols. Thereafter, it is necessary to negotiate several ups and downs in the forest, passing 1050 m altitude twice. There are a few forks in the road and you must pay close attention to the signs that point you in the right direction (this slows you down a little). Finally, there is a picnic area with two long tables, ideal for a lunch break. Immediately there is a fork: to the left for the Bergnon pass, to the right, at 2', the destination... From the summit (1023 m), the town of Sassello jumps into view. The return is by the morning road.

In summary. Dif. T - 2h45 Tot. (1h30 and 1h15 ret. at a leisurely pace) - 7 km - minimum height difference +150 m (ups and downs). Ride comfort: good. Best period: autumn for the colours. Tour interest: medium+. Fair weather despite unfavourable forecasts...
