Approximately one hour from the Bergamo exit of the motorway you will reach Foppolo.
.Introduction
From the Foppolo hotel forecourt (where you leave your car), take the signpost [204] that leads towards the Quarta Baita, then continue as far as the Montebello ridge, from here the path continues on the flat over the Valle di Carisole at the foot of the Corno Stella. The mule track continues to climb in a rocky environment until reaching Lake Moro. The lazier ones can take the chairlift, shortening the journey by about 3/4 of an hour.
Description
From the Foppolo hotel forecourt (where you leave your car), take the signpost [204] that leads towards the Quarta Baita, then continue as far as the Montebello ridge, from here the path continues on the flat over the Valle di Carisole at the foot of the Corno Stella. The mule track continues to climb in a rocky environment until reaching Lake Moro. From Lake Moro (2235m), the trail climbs in a northerly direction to the nearby Valcervia Pass (2318m). Continue on the Valtellina side, bending to the left (west) and reaching the watershed again after a short walk. Go back to the Bergamo side and descend towards the two small lakes (no name on the maps - at about 2265m) and beyond them continue westwards. You then touch the small lakes (about 2200m) and turn south, descending more steeply until you cross path [203]. You turn left (east) and shortly (passing Trout Lake) you are at Montebello (2085m).
