The alpine road between Ortise and Celentino

Access

It is preferable to have two cars; otherwise follow the directions in the text. Go back up the Val di Sole and enter the Val di Peio, where you leave the first car above Celentino; with the other car, turn back and go up first to Ortisè and then on to Malga Stabli from the car park.

Description

0h00' Leaving the vehicle below Malga Stabli (which cannot be seen), 1,800m, we continue straight on along a beautiful forest road, ignoring some branches. Higher up, you pass Malga Pozze (2,100m) and continue. At a crossroads, almost level, keep left. You arrive at Malga Monte (2,158m, 1h40'). Here, although it is early, you decide to take a break. Then we set off again. You arrive at what is to all intents and purposes the former Celentino Lake. A remarkable vantage point offers splendid views...

Please note: if you only have one car, it is better to turn back from here... Differently, with a few ups and downs you reach Malga Campo (1,980m). The scenery is unusual and you descend along the forest road until you reach the vehicle you left in the morning (1,600m, 1h50').
