Description

The Azure Window is a flat-topped natural limestone arch formed from a type of Maltese limestone known as Globigerina (the second oldest rock found on the islands, covering almost 70 per cent of their surface area). This rock, which is subject to erosion, gives the Maltese coastline its distinctive character.
