Plan de Brun
Description
Along the narrow lanes winding between old houses and vineyards supported by typical stone pillars, there are charming corners of ancient charm. At the side of the beautiful mule track that climbs up to the medieval village of Perloz is the chapel dedicated to the Holy Trinity, which must have already existed in the 18th century, as shown by an act of pastoral visitation in 1786; the building was then rebuilt in 1835 at the expense of an inhabitant of Plan-de-Brun, Bartolomeo Porté. The chapel, which partly recalls the architecture of the sanctuary of Notre-Dame-de-la-Garde, has a portico with three arches on the façade; the floor plan is rectangular. Inside is the high altar in masonry, with a carved and painted wooden frame enclosing a canvas depicting the 'Coronation of the Virgin and Saints Pantaleon, John the Baptist, John the Evangelist, Victor, Bartholomew, Catherine and Anne, donated in 1826 by Bartholomew Porté. On either side of the hall are carved, painted and gilded wooden altars dedicated to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Sacred Heart of Mary. On the right side of the building are the sacristy and bell tower.
